Ghimes, the border of a thousand years
The Ghimes Valley is a separate world in Transylvania: “Streamland” on the eastern border of the former Csíkszék, on the upper reaches of the Tatros River.
Here you can find railway cabin 30, the most important symbol of the Millennium Border, which was established on the basis of a treaty between the Romanian and Hungarian states, built within the Miercurea Ciuc-Ghimes Făget-Palanca-Comanesti railway line between 1896-1897.
