Church and place of pilgrimage Sumuleu Ciuc

The former Gothic church in Sumuleu Ciuc was built by the Franciscans between 1442 and 1448 on the site of the former church in memory of János Hunyadi’s victory at Sântimbru Mureș, in honor of Our Lady of Sarlós.
The hill between Kissomlyó and Nagysomlyó is the site of the Pentecost pilgrimage. Crowds of pilgrims visit the Pentecost celebration in Şumuleu Ciuc every year.
